Making it more complex than it needs to be only makes the protocol harder for everyone to run and use. That is why we are pursuing the full decentralization of the protocol — native PoW + ConvergenceX, no operator, no treasury.

This protocol has been hardened empirically — through its live mainnet history and a disciplined trial → error → diagnosis → resolution engineering cycle, with every issue and fix recorded on-chain for full traceability. The result is a system that behaves reliably and securely in practice, but it has not undergone an independent third-party security audit. How DTD works

  • Permanent 1-of-3 cadence: the DTD share accumulates for 2 blocks and pays on the 3rd (lottery block).
  • No valid winner → not lost: it rolls forward and grows.
  • Eligibility: mined ≥1 block in the last 2016 (~2 weeks) — active miners only.
  • Kept: recent-winner cooldown · anti-dominance gate · SbPoW gate · uniform per-address selection.

🏦 What happens to the existing Gold Vault + PoPC SOST

The SOST already accumulated in Gold Vault + PoPC are not kept as a treasury and not sold for listings. They are progressively returned to active miners through a Historical DTD Jackpot: about 100 SOST every ~288 blocks (~48 h) to the DTD winner, using the very same DTD eligibility rules, until the historical balance is exhausted (~3 years). It is a real protocol spend of those coins — no new emission. The reserve returns to the network, not to a founder.

V15 does not delete the Gold Vault or the PoPC Pool โ€” it deactivates them provisionally. Their block emission stops and the balance already accumulated is returned to active miners through the Historical DTD Jackpot, but the modules stay built into the protocol, dormant. They are kept ready to be re-activated in the future, once SOST has the infrastructure to run and operate them properly โ€” exactly as Useful Compute remains in the codebase, dormant, until the network can support its rewarded phase. Nothing is destroyed: capabilities are paused until the protocol can support them.

Alice has SOST, wants BTC. Bob has BTC, wants SOST. They agree price on the OTC/P2P board; everything after is purely cryptographic, with no intermediary touching either coin:

  1. Alice locks her SOST in a SOST-side HTLC, redeemable by Bob with a secret only Alice knows. Refundable to Alice after timeout T1.
  2. Bob locks his BTC in a Bitcoin-side HTLC, redeemable by Alice with the same secret. Refundable to Bob after timeout T2 (T2 < T1 by a wallet-enforced safety margin).
  3. Alice claims the BTC by revealing the secret on the Bitcoin chain.
  4. Bob reads the secret from the Bitcoin chain and uses it to claim the SOST.

Why Feigenbaum?
