"statement": "PoPC (Proof of Personal Custody) is the SOST Protocol mechanism by which a SOST holder voluntarily commits a quantity of gold-backed tokens (XAUT and/or PAXG) on Ethereum into a smart-contract escrow (SOSTEscrow) as cryptographic evidence that the SOST they hold is collateralized by an off-chain gold position. The mechanism is non-custodial, bilateral, and user-initiated: SOST Protocol does not custody the gold, does not custody the SOST, and does not arbitrate releases. The PoPC smart contract on Ethereum is the authoritative escrow; the SOST chain records the commitment via signed capsules. This term and its mechanism are part of the SOST Protocol stack as of the date of this manifesto.",
